On June 17th at 17:00 at Paul Studios, I will be performing as a part of the show Fragile Matter. Would love to see you!
For the show, Thread, in collaboration with Olive Barrel Berlin at Karibuni, Luttrell creates intimate vignettes in four separate spaces in the form of performance, installation and video. Each piece physically relates to how one protects themselves, specifically with the use of fabric. Objects that are meant to catch air from a fall are cut and frayed, leaving little capability to protect. A performer sits bare asking others to cut and pin fabric in order to collaboratively conceal her body. And a woman travels treacherous conditions, with physical evidence of her struggle found in the tears of the the garment she wears and the conditions she endures to protect a symbol of life. Each of these works questions how and why it is that we protect ourselves and how control becomes surrendered in these vulnerable situations.

Performance beginning at 10:30 PM
I have been a bit lazy with my website but a big update will soon come that showcases my new work and performance documentation of the work I made here in Berlin this summer. I was very fortunate to work with Momentum Worldwide and with their help, an evening of performances and a showcase of my work was open to the public on a hot evening in Berlin. I am very pleased with the turnout, support and a new direction of my work. Please stay tuned for more info.
New Works at Identity Theft April 16th Opening at Foound in Geneva, Switzerland
At the crux of Luttrell's creative process is the universal relationship our bodies and minds have with chaos and the means in which we attempt to control it. Identity Thef is a series of work that questions if progress within a system is really a change for the better or if it is an epidemic causing an inevitable breakdown due to our obsession with moving forward.
The process, which lends to the subject matter of the works, begins with internet-based images of patents - the blueprints of ideas - creating the byproduct of our highly technical world. These images are then transferred onto paper, replicating the same way in which information is reproduced and how quickly and easily it becomes entangled. What results are meticulously layered paintings that form new relationships and meanings while questioning how chaos manifests itself within these worlds.
I will be having a showing of my work in Geneva, Switzerland at a new gallery/project space called Foound. Stay tuned for details...
